Advice & Counseling

Let us provide expert advice and counseling on employee relations matters and high risk decisions ranging from hiring to firing, and all matters in between.

Outsourced Employee Relations

Many mid-sized organizations are not able to maintain a full-time expert on employee relations and employment law.  At KarenMichael, we can meet all your employee relations needs for a flat monthly fee, including handbook reviews, responses to EEOC Charges, resolution of employee relations matters and training.  You don’t have the expense of a full-time employee, but you have the expertise usually only afforded national corporations.

This cost efficient alternative will improve your employee and manager performance and will reduce successful employee lawsuits by ensuring that your organization is in compliance with state, federal and local laws and by helping your organization make sound, legally compliant business decisions regarding difficult employee situations.

On-going Retainer Services

Another alternative for organizations is to have us on retainer for employee relations and consulting services.  For a set rate, organizations will receive a specific amount of hours of expertise from our organization.  Retained organizations are afforded a lower hourly rate and they receive the benefit of someone who will grow to understand their business.

On-Call Services

We can work ad-hoc with organizations that have a temporary employee relations or consulting need.  We charge a reasonable hourly rate for these services.  If the matter involves something that may be long-term, we can discuss flat fee arrangements.

HR Audits & Review or Development of Handbooks, Policies and Codes of Conduct

Most organizations are unaware of the many employment laws that govern their workforces.  Because of this, many organizations are unknowingly in violation of these laws and regulations.  In addition to legal compliance, an organization with practical policies and procedures will run better and will employ individuals who understand their obligations at work.  For example, your organization should have recent and updated policies on:

* Harassment
* Retaliation
* Workplace Violence
* Computer Usage
* Privacy
* Equal Employment Opportunity
* Drug & Alcohol Abuse
* Criminal Convictions
* FMLA
* Wage & Hour
* Sick Leave
* Attendance

These, and many more, are critical to the sound operations of your organization.

Let us conduct an “HR Audit” of your practices, policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and to develop programs that will make your business run better.
